She was born at the family home in Venice, Utah on November 20, 1929, a daughter of Cyrus Lincoln and Amy Collings Avery. She married Bernell Don Sharp, June 24, 1947 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died September 4, 1992.
Carla was an avid member of the DUP for several decades. She enjoyed reading, singing and writing poems and songs. She was often seen walking around the neighborhood. She enjoyed having cats and kittens over the years.
Carla is survived by her children: Janet Malek of Woods Cross; Dale and Shaina Sharp of Richfield; Sonja and Randy Sandquist of Riverton; Lola Madsen of Kearsn; Mona and Robert Read of Richfield; Teena and J. John Suprise of Sandy; 27 grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren; brother and sisters: Burton Avery of West Valley City; Wanda Twitchell of Henderson, Nevada and Marva Helquist of Salt Lake City.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Edren Madsen; great-grandson Hayden Lee Madsen; and her brother, Alan Avery.
The family would like to thank Mona and Robert for all of their help with mother the past few years; and to At Home Health and any others that may have helped with her care, during her failing health.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the Richfield East LDS Stake Center, 805 North 500 East in Richfield. With Brother Nathan Lee Counselor Richfield 8th Ward Bishopric Officiating. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M or at the Stake Center Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services.
Burial was in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. Compassionate Services by Richfield 8th LDS Ward Relief Society Sisters
