Elsie Clara (Kovanda) Baucke of Nebraska City, Nebraska died May 24, 1981 at St. Mary's Hospital in that community. She was 84 and had been in failing health for two years.
Born at Table Rock, Nebraska October 29, 1896, she was the daughter of Albert J. and Mary Agnes (Karas) Kovanda.
In 1924 she married Werner H. Baucke of Elk Creek, Nebraska where they lived until moving to Nebraska City in 1944. Mr. Baucke died in 1975.
Mrs. Baucke taught at the Elk Creek School and rural schools in the area for many years. She was a member of the Lutheran Church since 1924.
Surviving are her three sons, Eldon of Elk Creek, Nebraska, Roland of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Verdes of Omaha, Nebraska and two daughters, Mrs. Don (Aladeen) Venema of Syracuse, Nebraska and Mrs. Marilyn L. Lippstreu of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Fifteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
She also leaves a brother, Jess Kovanda of Harlingen, Texas
A funeral service was held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Elk Creek, Nebraska on May 27 with the Rev. Norman Porath of Plattsmouth officiating.
She has a son Arlen John Baucke b. 1924 d. 1955, buried at Arlington Nat. Cem. Arlington, VA. his findagrave # is 35265092. who had one child Elke. He d. in Germany.
