Firstborn of Anton & Katie (Dornberger) Wilhelm.

Frank as the eldest did not take over his father Anton's farm - rather his younger half brother Alfred did.

Katie died young, after the birth of her second child, Frank's younger brother Edward. Katie's Dornberger family was presumed to be German, but nothing is known about them in 2015. She was buried in the Mooney Cemetery down the road from the Wilhelm farm.

Anton remarried, and Frank and Ed were raised by their stepmother Mary Ann Thome Wilhelm, who was of German descent.
