She was born January 13, 1930 in Gem and is the daughter of the late Roy Scott and Myrtle Emily (Bundy) Smith.
She worked with her husband all of her life. Together they ran Greenfield Laundry and Dry Cleaning for 27 years. She was an officer for Oden Realty and helped develop subdivisions. She was a co-founder of Arrow Head Golf Course and operated the Golf Pro Shop until she retired in 1991. She was also the founder of the Arrow Head Ladies Golf League. She attended the Greenfield Christian Church and its Spirit Sewers Club.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years Donald D. Oden; sons, Alan Dean Oden of Morgantown, Gary Rhea Oden of Greenfield; daughters, Tina Lynn French of Morgantown, Darla Joy Dickerson of Greenfield; brother, Marlin Smith of Shelbyville; sisters, Loretta Garriott and Doris Shively both of Greenfield, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:00am on Saturday December 16, 2006 at Pasco-Stillinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Friends may call Friday 4:30pm – 8:30pm and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
