Rosella Ann Larkin Maw, 83, passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Peach Tree Assisted Living with family members by her side. She was a gracious wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She was born January 22, 1921 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Elijah and Rosella Ferrin Larkin.
She married her forever sweetheart, Orlo S. Maw on February 9,1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2004.
She graduated from Ogden High School in 1939, Weber College in 1941, and Phi Kappa Phi at Utah State University in 1943. She was a sewing teacher at Mound Fort Junior High and later a kindergarten teacher for 17 years at Plain City Elementary.
She served as Relief Society President in the Ogden 57th Ward and again in the Plain City 2nd Ward, and also on Stake boards. She also served for 10 years as an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple and faithfully in many other callings as an active member of the LDS Church.
She was a member of the Coronet Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and was honored as Weber County Mother of the Year in 1986.
Surviving are her children: Annette ( Dallas) Taylor, Plain City; Kathleen ( Kris) Widdison, Yorba Linda, CA; Lane ( Jeanie) Maw, Plain City; Brent Maw, Plain City; Bruce ( Laura) Maw, Orem; and Dean ( Jana )Maw, North Ogden, 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother Rowland A. Larkin, Ogden.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, George F. Larkin, E. Ferrin Larkin and Elane Larkin.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Plain City LDS Chapel, 2300 N. 4350 W., with Bishop Mark Montgomery officiating. Friends may call at the Larkin & Sons Mortuary, 496 24th St, Ogden, Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the ward Saturday, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Plain City Cemetery.
