Lifetime Bristow resident, Mildred Flood was born June 13, 1919 in Bristow, Oklahoma to William George and Sarah Catherine (Childress) Henderson. She departed this life Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in Bristow at the age of 92 years. On May 22, 1942 in Bristow, Oklahoma, Mildred Henderson and Lawden "Bill" Flood were united in marriage and to this union were born two children, Donna Sue and Dusty. Throughout her life, Mildred worked several jobs, ranging from working at the peanut mill to being a co-owner of ‘U Need a Lunch' café. Mildred was an active member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Bristow. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She is survived by one daughter, Donna Sue Flood Harjo and her husband, Larry of Bristow; one son, Dusty Flood and his wife, Rhonda of Bristow; four sisters, Vada Weaver, Alta Morton, and Wanda McDaniel all of Bristow, and Roe Henderson of Iota, Louisianna; four grandchildren, Todd Byrne, Nicholas Flood, Brandon Flood, and Mallory Flood; 6 Great Grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and three sisters. Visitation will be Sunday March 25, 2012 1:00-8:00 PM and Monday March 26,2012 8:00AM – 12:00PM. Funeral services will be 2PM, Monday, March 26, 2012 at the First Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Gene Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Bristow City Cemetery.
