A native of Braxton County WV, Mr Whitesel had lived in Grafton 23 years. He was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, Grafton.
Surviving are his wife, Viola; fours sons, Adren, Francis, Gail and Basil all of Grafton; four daughters, Mrs. Harley (Maviadell) Alltop, Mrs June Moore, Mrs. Okey (Nelda) Stout and Mrs Gary (Carolyn) Reedy, all of Grafton; 30 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs Eunice Messenger of Elyria, MRs Eula Lynn of Columbus, Mrs Macel James and Mrs. Rhoda James both of Normantown, WV and MRs Agnes Wolf of Athens. and a brother George of Anthens. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister and a brother.
