Shirley Ann Bowers Eisenhower Botts, 75, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012, surrounded by her family at home. She was born on May 29, 1936, in Pottsville, to Woodrow Lee Bowers and Laura Kauffman Bowers.
Shirley retired from the former Hess's, Hecht's and Macy's department stores. She was an active member of Immanuel Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Mechanicsburg, where she served as a Deaconess. Shirley enjoyed playing Pinochle, bowling, reading, especially Christian novels, jigsaw puzzles, board games, and collecting Lennox bird figurines, as well as bird watching from her home. At her church, she was known as the beloved "Coffee Lady" for her faithful early arrivals in order to make coffee for the Sunday school classes.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 36 years, Richard B. Botts; a sister, Phyllis Bowers Kline, three children, Cynthia Eisenhower Cundall, Cory L. Eisenhower, and Keith A. Eisenhower; six grandchildren, Eleanor Cundall, Charles Cundall, Victoria Cundall, David Cundall, Joel Eisenhower, and Samuel Eisenhower; three step-sons, Timothy R. Botts, Gregory J. Botts, and Kenneth A. Botts; five step-grandchildren, Andrew Botts, Jeremy Botts, Catherine Botts Stern, Elizabeth Botts, and Sarah Botts; and twelve step-great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Immanuel Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Mechanicsburg. Visitation and a time of fellowship will take place in the church fellowship hall immediately following the services. Burial was held privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
