She was born on March 8, 1914, the daughter of Roy and Ina (Stuart) Richardson. She was born, raised, and lived most of her life in and around the Arkansaw community, town of Waterville, Pepin County. She married Donald F. Meixner October 22, 1932, in Arkansaw. They later divorced. Rosamond married Percy Murry in 1949, at Arkansaw. After marriage they farmed in the town of Waterville until 1975, when they moved into Arkansaw. Her husband, Percy, passed away in 1986. Rosamond has been a resident of the Plum City Care Center in Plum City since June of 2002.
Rosamond was well known in the community as a seamstress. She enjoyed reading and playing cards as well as walking with the neighbor ladies.
Rosamond is survived by one son, Duane (Barbara) Meixner of Arkansaw; two daughters, Cleo (Ronald) Reitz and Marcia (John T.) Harmon, both of Elmwood; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Violet Kuesel of Spring Valley and Fern Moldenhauer of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Percy; one daughter; Dona Gill, great-grandson, Brennan Einum; son-in-law, Horace Gill; and two stepsons, Wayne and Robert Murry.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at the United Methodist Church in Arkansaw, with Rev. Sue Bryce officiating. Burial will be in the Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Rhiel Funeral Home, Durand, and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
