Private, Company C, 7th US Cavalry. Killed in action by Sioux Indians at Custer's Last Stand, along with all of the other soldiers in that column.

He enlisted on October 4, 1873, at the age of 27, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, giving his previous occupation of Butcher. He had blue eyes, dark hair, a dark complexion, and was 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He was killed on Last Stand Hill, along with all of the soldiers of Custer's Column, and was initially buried where he fell. In 1878, the bodies of the soldiers were removed from their field burials and reinterred in a mass grave at the top of Last Stand Hill, where his body remains today. He was not married.
