We sadly announce the passing of both Ventura (Benny) Lopez who died Jan 14th and Edith (Bea) Lopez who died March 3rd. Benny was born in Gila, New Mexico May 26, 1921. He was a veteran of WWII and served in both the United States Army and Navy, he became a truck driver from which he later retired. Bea was born in Section, Alabama June 25, 1918. During the war she was a welder (a Rosie the Riveter) and later enjoyed her life as a homemaker. Benny and Bea were married and lived in Whittier for more than 50 years. Benny is survived by his daughter Martha and 3 sisters and Bea is survived by a son Buddy. Bea's other children, Gaynell, Woodie and Cecil passed before her. Together they leave behind many, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, neices, nephews, daughers and sons -in-laws.

In their healthier years Benny's favorite past time was helping out family, friends and neighbors with moving things, yard work, cutting trees to name a few and Edith enjoyed her participation in the Jehovah's Witness community there in Whittier.

In the past year and with their health failing both Benny and Bea were moved to their grandaughters home in Banning in order to be cared for around the clock. They were very much loved by their family, friends, neighbors and community will be dearly missed by all.

Benny was interned at Riverside National Cemetary in January. Bea will be interned on Thursday, March 22nd, 1:30pm at Riverside National Cemetary 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518. In remembrance of both Benny and Bea, immediately following the service there will be a gathering at the home of their daughter in-law in Yucaipa.
