Minnesota Governor. Rolvaag served as the Governor of Minnesota from 1963 to 1967. Also served as a Democratic-Farmer-Labor Candidate for United States Representative for Minnesota's 1st District in 1946, Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota from 1955 to 1963, Delegate to the Democratic National Convention from Minnesota in 1960, and United States Ambassador to Iceland in 1967. After Rolvaag's death his ashes were scattered near his father's vacation cabin in Itasca County, Minnesota. There is a cenotaph for him at Oaklawn Cemetery in Northfield.
