Actor. Born Nicholas Benton Alexander, appeared in 81 films from the 1910s to the 1960s, making his screen debut at age 5 in "Every Pearl a Tear." His best known role as that of 'Kemmerick' the tragic amputation victim in the film "All Quiet on the Western Front". When his acting career slowed down in the mid 1930s, he found a new career as a successful radio announcer.
