Mary E Scott is the daughter of William P Scott and Martha C Burton. Mary was born in Virginia and moved with her family to Maury County Tennessee, where she married Redmon G. Edwards on 24 December 1839. Mary and Redmon show up in the 1850 census of Maury Co. Tennessee. Then they show up in the 1860 Census of Helena,Phillips,Arkansas. Marys sister Rebecca Caroline and her husband Arthur Ferguson lived in Phillips Conuty also. In 1863 Redmon and family were living near Memphis where he sold horses to the Union Army.
