Steve Brown passed away at the Mission Terrace Convalescent Home on 14 March 2012, at age 69. He leaves behind his wife, Edelgard (Ede) Wilber, a stepdaughter, Lorrie Von, two step sons John and Dean Wilber, and three granddaughters, Emerald, Jade, and Linda. Born in Dayton, OH on 7 March 1943, Steve attended the Universety of Dayton, graduating with a BS in Psycology. After college Steve was drafted into the USA, where he served from 1966 until 1968, and attained the rank of Sergent. He spent his entire stint in the military at Fort Benning, GA asisting with psychological evaluation of new recruits.
After leaving the service in 1969, he moved to CA to join his parents, and went to work at Adams RV in Santa Barbara. Steve bought the business with his partner, Jim Nail, and operated it until he retired in 2007. Steve's life outside work revolved primarily his association with the local Santa Barbara Elks Lodge, Chapter 613. He joined the lodge in 1980, held many offices, and was the ExaltedRuler in 1984-1985. He loved the Elks and everything the organization stands for and could always be counted on to participate in any activity being planed. He was supportive mentor to all active recruiter for sponorship of new members. Steve knew everything about the history of the Santa Barbara Elks Lodge; if anyone had a question, he was the "go to" person for an answer. What his many friends will miss most about Steve is the quality of his friendship. He was wise , compasionate, and caring, with a wonderful sense of humor. He watched out for and took care of the people he loved. Steve's passing came much too soon, and his loss leaves a big hole in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
