Clinton W. Habbley, 74, of Woodstock, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Dec. 14, 1934, in McHenry, to James and Esther (Kadow) Habbley. He married Jean Stanger on June 30, 1956, at Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock.

He was a truck driver for Peet Frate Line for more than 30 years before his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on tractors. He was really a true jack of all trades, and he also was very mechanically inclined. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do to help his friends and family. He always had a great sense of humor and a special way of making everyone laugh. Most of all he loved spending time with his loving family.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Habbley; two sons, Craig (Mary) Habbley and Scott (Chris) Habbley; a daughter, Susan (John) Greve; eight grandchildren, Nathan, Jessica, Jeffrey, Mark, Amber, Stephanie, Deanna and Rob; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Dolly Spencer and Bea Hansing.

A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. The visitation will continue from 10 a.m. Friday, March 20, until the service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodstock.
