Born August 29, 1917 in Italy, she was the daughter of Antonio and Michelina (Dolcemore) Barretta. She came to the United States at the age of 13 and was a life time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. A homemaker, Angela was a spirited and spunky woman. Although she had no children of her own, she was a "mother" to many children throughout her lifetime and loved to cook and bake.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Judy (Joe) Bush, Carmine (Cheryl) Barretta, Steve (Jennifer) Barretta, Teresa (Rob) McQuate, Angela (Mike) Gremmer, Mary (Dan) Koppert, Mike (Ruth) Barretta and Michelina (Charles) Steward; numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Manetha Barretta, Rose Augustine, Esther Williams, Ann (John) Thomas and Edith Augustine; and brothers-in-law, Aldo Ardis, Charles (Wanda) Augustine and Dominic (Helen) Augustine.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Augustine; four brothers, Frank, Louis, Tony and Carmine Barretta; a sister, Catherine Ardis and a nephew, Angelo Barretta.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
