Ardell Palmquist, age 95 of Taylors Falls died on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Fairview Lakes Regional Medical Center in Wyoming, MN.

Ardell was born on July 19, 1916 in Sandstone, Minnesota to parents, Albert and Anna (Bjorklund) Knudtsen. Her family moved to Stillwater for a short time before they moved to Henning where she attended school and graduated in 1934. Ardell moved to Minneapolis and would soon meet Philip Palmquist at the Bethlehem Baptist Church. They later married at the same church in 1939 and they made their home in Minneapolis. Ardell was a homemaker all her life and truly enjoyed raising her five children. She would later come to enjoy the birth of her first grandchild and the ten other grandchildren that would follow. Faith and family were the most important things in her life. She was an active member at Kost Evangelical Free Church at Kost where she was part of the Bible Study and prayer groups. Philip and Ardell purchased an 80 acre hobby farm near Almelund in 1980 and Ardell would begin spending more time there until 1998 when they moved there permanently. Ardell truly enjoyed her new neighbors and friends as well as the simple life on the farm.

She is survived by her children, Joyce (Ron) Halverson of Shoreview; James (Beverly) of Minneapolis; David (Yuliya) of Center City; Mary (Nathan) Bixler of Albuquerque, NM; Robert (Pamela) of Northfield; her 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Ron (Jane) Knudtsen of Colorado Springs, CO and Roger (Anita) Knudtsen of Red Wing. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Philip on December 3, 2002 and her sister, Marcella Danielson
