He was born Feb. 3, 1946, in Dover, N.H., the son of Clifford L. Capen, Sr. and Pauline (Christian) Capen.
Cliff attended school in Dover to complete his education. He joined his father as a partner, and they successfully spent 20 years running an auto body repair business. Cliff was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the United States Marine Corps and was awarded two Purple Hearts.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the great outdoors.
Cliff is survived by four children, Brian, Wanda, Karen and Tonya. He leaves 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. For the last 15 years, Cliff was very fortunate to have a significant other, Victoria Chase of Rochester, N.H. She loved him and he was devoted to her. She remained by his side in good time and remained nursing him till the end. Other members of his family include, four sisters, Rose, Carol, Judith and Vicky; three brothers, Paul (predeceased), Ralph, and Roy Allen. His extended family includes, two brother-in-laws, Edmond Malloy and Richard Souza; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wed. Feb. 22, 2012, at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, N.H., with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be with military honors at the Pine Hill Cemetery, Dover, NH.
