World War II Veteran Received A Bronze Star
Gilmore Fultz Lunsford, Sr., 85, of Glasgow, died Thursday, November 10, 2005 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Lunsford was born on August 7, 1920 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Fred Stuart Lunsford, Sr. and Delight Wilson Lunsford.

He was a member of the Glasgow Presbyterian Church, the Glasgow Moose Lodge #233, V.F.W. Post 7578 and was a former member of the Glasgow Town Council.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving two years and 8 months with the U.S. Army Air Corps 10th Air Force in the India C.B.I. Theatre and received a bronze star.

Mr. Lunsford is survived by his wife, Abigail Tutwiler Lunsford of Glasgow; one son, Gilmore Fultz "Jeff" Lunsford, Jr. and wife bonnie Quin Lunsford of Augusta, GA; two grandchildren: Quin G. Lunsford and Kyle Ann Lunsford; two brothers: Randolph Lunsford of Las Vegas, NV and Dexter Lunsford of Salisbury, MD.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at the Glasgow Presbyterian Church with Rev. Timothy Osment officiating. Burial will follow in the Falling Spring Presbyterian Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangments are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
