Thomas E. Allen, of Camden, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 87.
Thomas was born on May 28, 1924, in Felton, DE, to the Late- Walter & Katie (Walls) Allen.
He had worked at Playtex in Dover for over 40 years, retiring as a supervisor.
Thomas served as Mayor of Henderson, MD for a while in his younger years. He
also enjoyed reading, fishing, gardening, and fixing bicycles. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Anna P. Allen and
17 brothers and sisters: John T. Allen, Barbara Jean Seidl, Clarence Allen, Floyd Allen, Paul Allen, Roland Allen, Bill Allen, ola Allen, Oli Allen, Harvey Allen, Herman Allen, Katherine Allen, and Baby Allen, Mae and Mildred Edwards, Sadie Dill, Ina Hurd and Ida Lord.
He is survived by a daughter Karen Jarrell, son-in-law Tony Seidl, daughter-in-law Sheila Allen; grandchildren- Iven E. Wolf, Peggy L. Trupman, John T. Allen, and Gregory T.
Domino, great-grandchildren Lexus Allen, John Allen, III, Aaliyah Allen, Donovan Allen,
Kamayra Allen, Deej Tupman & Brydjette Tupman, and numerous nieces & nephews.
Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, February 24, 2012 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West
Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will
follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy. Dover, DE 19901.
