MARIETTA -- Graveside services for Velma M. Henson, 76, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lakeview Cemetery with Bro. Daniel Gaither officiating.
Born Oct. 24, 1922 at Willis to Doc and Annie Hilton Elliott, she died Dec. 27, 1998 at a hospital in Oklahoma City.
She married Weldon Henson, Feb. 24, 1943 at Kingston. A retired waitress, she had lived in Marietta for the past 20 years, and had also worked at the Marietta Bakery. She was of the Holiness faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jan. 8, 1982, and four sisters, Floydie Malena, Evelyn Kent, Tillie Henry, and Pat Page.
She is survived by two sons, Bo, Marietta and Ronnie, Lawton; two daughters, Linda Dolph, Oklahoma City and Pat Maxon, Norman; a brother, Doc Elliott, Marietta; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends this evening, 7-8, at the Kennedy Funeral Home where services will be directed.
