HUSBAND OF JEANETTE CRISLIP
SON OF JAMES and VADA CRISLIP
Painesville Township — Services for Jack Crislip, Painesville Township Park District chairman, will be at 9:30 a.m. today at St Mary Catholic Church, 242 North State St., Painesville.
The 75-year-old Painesville Township resident died Thursday at LakeEast Hospital in Painesville after suffering a heart attack at the township park.

Crislip, a retired material handling and traffic supervisor for Uniroyal, headed the park district for 26 years and was dedicated to the park's preservation and improvement.

"That was his true love," said his wife, Jeanette, a Painesville Township trustee. "He wanted to give back to his community. He wanted to leave it a better place."

Crislip held several other leadership posts in Lake County over the years. He was chairman of the Painesville Township Zoning Commission, vice president of the Lake County Community Development Council and operations chairman of the Painesville Township Bicentennial.

The Akron native also served on the Laketran Board of Trustees and Lake County Comprehensive Planning Committee.

Before moving to Painesville Township in 1968, Crislip lived in Perry, where he served four terms on village council, chaired the zoning board, led a school levy committee and volunteered with United Way campaigns.

Crislip and his wife would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in June.

In addition to his wife, survivors include daughters, Jacklyn Acheson of Battle Creek, Mich., and Jeanne Combs of Rockford, Ill.; five grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters. His son, Joseph, died in 1993.
