John George was the second child born to George John and Elizabeth Charlotte Wright Harris. His siblings are Eileen Elizabeth, Elroy and Seldon Ainge. He went by his middle name of George rather than John. He attended Lindon Grade School, Pleasant Grove High School and Seminary. In 1925 he worked for A. P. Warnick on his farm where he met Melva Warnick and on Septemer 7, 1927 they were married in the Salt Lake Temple. They livd in Herriman, Manila and American Fork raising a family of six children.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. He served as superintendant of the Manila Ward Sunday School and was ordained one of the Seven Presidents of Seventies of Quorum #44 and was senior president of the 135th Quorum of Seventies until he was ordained a High Priest and 1st Counselor in the Manila Ward Bishopric in 1949. He died July 3, 1968 in American Fork and was buried July 6, 1968 in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Arlene Mae.

His children are: Warren J, Lynn W., George Melvin, Arlene Mae, Louise Marie and Karen Kay.
