Beloved son of R&B singer Mary Wilson, member of the famed singing group the Supremes. Ferrer, who played the tenor saxophone planned to follow in his mother's footsteps in a career in music. His short life came to an end on January 29, 1994. While he and his mother were enroute from California by car to Las Vegas, the vehicle they were traveling in somehow drifted to the shoulder of the road eventually rolling and finally landing on the other side of the highway. Ferrer died instantly after being caught and crushed between the car and road. His mother suffered severe injuries and later recovered. It was later learned that the accident was a result of a design flaw in the vehicle door.
