Clifford Abbott Clifford L. Abbott of 5 Mile Road died Aug. 8 at War Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 27, 1924, in Sault Ste, Marie, he had been a Sault resident all of his life.
He was a lock and dam operator for the Corps of Engineers for 28 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans and Lock Local 830. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife Christena -two sons H. James Abbott of Albany, Ore.
and Albert at home- three daughters 31rs. John (Janet) Soorus of Dafter and Fran and Katherine at home; four grandchildren: three brothers Albert Abbott Jr. of the Sault, James of Middletown, Ohio and John of Cadillac: and one sister Mrs. Dorothy Burtt of Benson, Ariz. He was predeceased by his parents Mr.
and 'Mrs. Albert A. Abbott a. brother Tom who died in 1957 and a sister Mrs. Eleanor Pennington who died in 196S.
Calling hours at the Howe Funeral Home will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Lt. Leo Wood officiating.
The burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Society.
