1st North Westchester Boy to Give Life to Country Since Outbreak of War.
Northern Westchester made its first sacrifice in the life of one of its residents in the defense of America since declaration of War. On Saturday last, August 4th, William F L Breuninger died at the Naval hospital inn Norfolk, Va.
Young man, son of John K Breuninger of Cross river was in his 23rd yr, having been born in the town of Bedford o Nov 03 1894.
He was servig on the battleship "Minnesota", when he contracted bronchial pneumonia.
Entering the Navy, he followed in the footsteps of his brother John K Jr, having served on the "Arkansas" and the traspor "Erny". Unfortunately, his brother was unable to make the funeral.
