Genevieve 'Jenny' M. Wiseman, 91
ZANESVILLE - Genevieve "Jenny" M. Wiseman, 91, of Zanesville, died at 9:56 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at Willow Haven Care Center following a brief illness.
She was born Sunday, Jan. 2, 1916, in Zanesville, the daughter of Charles Vincent and Mabel Joann Blosser Gossman and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. Jenny retired in 1984 from Essex Wire following 18 years of service and was previously employed at Hazel-Atlas Glass Co. She preformed and sang with the Putnam Senior Band for 10 years and was an avid card player.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Jenny is survived by five daughters, Judy (Frank) Wood of Rushville, Linda (Keith) Williams of Zanesville, Patty Offinger of South Zanesville, Shirley (Steve) Sevcik of South Zanesville and Jeannie (Jeff) Bryan of Philo; two sons, Paul (Patti) Wiseman of Middletown and Dave (Linda) Wiseman of Philo; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles "Doc" (Frances) Gossman of Zanesville.
In addition to her parents, Jenny was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Wiseman; the father of her children, Denver Wiseman; four sisters, Mary Rarick, Marguerite Nasella, Elizabeth Gossman and Lillian Terril; four brothers, George, Robert, Rolland and William Gossman; and two grandchildren, Kurt Bryan and Shelly Thompson.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at The Hillis and Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. with a Christian vigil service at 3:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church with a Dominican Father as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Crooksville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Morrison House Hospice in Jenny's name.
