Albert S. Bieker, 88, Ellis, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society, Hays.

He was born Sept. 16, 1923, in Ellis to Sylvester and Barbara (Aschenbrenner) Bieker.

He married Bertha Erbert on Nov. 16, 1943, in Ellis. She preceded him in death March 4, 2012.

He was a farmer and mechanic. He worked at Fondoble Motor Sales and Bob's Repair, both in Ellis.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis. He enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia and spending time on the farm.

Survivors include three sons, Richard, James and Michael Bieker, all of Ellis; a brother, Joe Erbert, Ellis; two sisters, Mary Kuhn, Hays, and Shirley Pitner, Atwood; four grandchildren, Brandie Bieker, Hays, Christopher Bieker, Lawrence, Kimberly Bieker, Topeka, and David Bieker, Bazine; and two great-grandchildren, Abby and Laura Bieker, Lawrence.

He was preceded in death by two sons, David and Robert Bieker; and two brothers, Martin and John Bieker.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Ellis.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis, KS 67637. A parish vigil service will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice, Masses or the Bieker family memorial.
