Lyle Otto Petersen passed away on October 26, 2011 at the age of 85.

Lyle was born on April 1, 1926 to William C. and Minnie (Hagen) Petersen on the family farm in Dunnell. He attended rural grade school and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1944, serving in Germany during WW II. On February 18, 1950, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Omundson in Fairmont.

In December 1950 they moved to a farm in Zimmerman and Lyle attended two years of agricultural school in Elk River. Along with farming he worked at Cornelius Co. in Anoka, retiring in 1988 after 20-plus years. Lyle was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Zimmerman.

Lyle is survived by his wife Rebecca; son Jerry (Marlys); daughter Sheryl; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents and brother Donald Petersen.

Visitation is from 12:30 – 2:00 PM, Monday, October 31, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church in Zimmerman.

Funeral Service is 2:00 PM, Monday, October 31, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church in Zimmerman.

Interment is in Livonia Cemetery, Zimmerman.
