Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Blackman Turner will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway. Burial will be in Nesmith Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Turner, 85, widow of Benjamin Franklin Turner, died Monday in a Myrtle Beach nursing home after a long illness.

Born in Darlington County, Mrs. Turner was a daughter of the late Wiley J. Blackman and Ida Rhodes Blackman. She lived in Nesmith for 60 years and was a member of Nesmith Baptist Church.

Surviving are six sons, George E. Turner, Wiley A. Turner, and Benjamin F. Turner Jr., all of Nesmith, Julian A. Turner of Tampa, Fla., Jack Turner of Georgetown, and E. W. Turner of Atlanta, Ga.; four daughters, Mrs. Lou Doris Gailey of Georgetown, Mrs. Ray T. Mahoney of Charleston, Mrs. Ruby T. Isaac of Myrtle Beach, and Mrs. Jo Ann Parker of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. B. P. McNease and Mrs. Elizabeth Baxley, both of Hartsville; 39 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
