Delores Perkins, 78, of Battle Lake died Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls.

Delores Nellie Perkins was born October 15, 1933, in Little Falls to Pete and Louise (Lakin) Borgstrom. She was baptized and confirmed in First Lutheran Church in Pillager and graduated from Pillager High School in 1951.

On June 28, 1952, Delores married Willis Perkins in St. Paul, MN. Following their marriage, they lived in Red Wing where both Jodi and Ann were born. They moved to Albert Lea and then to Thief River Falls where they managed a motel. In 1982, they moved to Madison and purchased The Pantry Café which they operated until retiring in 1997 and moving to their home on Silver Lake by Battle Lake. Willis passed away in August of 2001.

Delores enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time with her families especially her grandchildren at the lake. She was a very active member of First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake.

Delores met a special friend, Lowell Franze, and they enjoyed dancing, attending county fairs, ball games, parades and other community functions together. She appreciated being a part of Lowell's family.

She is survived by two daughters, Jodi (Randy) Arends of Madison and Ann Perkins of Jefferson City, MO; three grandchildren, Dean and Julie Arends of Madison and Kassidy Perkins of Jefferson City, MO; a sister, Eleanor Larson; two brothers, Darrel (Phyllis) Borgstrom and William (Carol Jean) Borgstrom and a sister-in-law, Ardis Borgstrom.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willis; a sister, Arlene Borgstrom; a brother, Robert Borgstrom and brother-in-law, Dwain Larson.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service

Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20th at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake
