Ernest Maurer died Tuesday
---Ernest L. Maurer, 70, of 9110 U.S. 27 South, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Louis (Lela) Rockwell of 130 Platt St., Homer at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. He had been in failing health for several years.
---He was born Aug. 12, 1901 in Girard, Mich. a son of Frank J. and Jennie (Lewis) Mauer. Most of his life was spent in this vicinity. He had been employed for several years as a guard at Jackson Prison.
---Besides his sister, Lela he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Lois) Lawrence of Marshall, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ernest L. Maurer who died in Homer Tuesday A.M. were held at the Kelser funeral home at 2:00 p.m. today. The Rev. Kernie Watson officiated and the organist was Ethel Markham. Interment was in the Lyon Lake cemetery. The Bearers were Harry Day Jr., Benjamin Rockwell, Harold Maurer, Henry Pelton, Robert Lawrence and Burdett Lewis.
