Born 16 Apr 1805 in Bodcreep, Butler, PA. She married John Somers Higbee on 26 Feb 1826. Together, they joined The LDS Church on 1 May 1832 in Ohio.
John Somers and Sarah Higbee's children are John Mount Higbee; Sarah Higbee (1833-1915); Harriet Higbee (1837-1915); and Silas Somers Higbee.
Sarah and her family were among the first wave of 3000 persecuted who were driven from Nauvoo, Illinois in February 1846. They arrived in Mount Pisgah, Iowa in May 1946.
Sarah never recovered from the exposure, malnutrition and fever she suffered as a result of her experiences, and died on 15 Jun 1846.
John Somers Higbee married Judith Ball on 17 Aug 1846 in Winter Quarters, Nebraska, and the family continued on, arriving in Salt Lake City on 26 Sep 1847.
In March 1852, John Somers married Ann Grainger Higbee.
Their children are: Sarah Ann Higbee (1853), Charlotte Jane Higbee (1855), Sophia Higbee, Sabra Higbee (1857); Richard Tait Higbee; and
Isaac William Higbee (1860).
