Shirley L. Olsen, 80, formerly of Genoa, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Norseland Nursing Home, Westby.
She was born on May 19, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., to Albert and Louise (Rohsenow) Brenton. On April 5, 1969, Shirley married Oscar M. Olsen in Chicago, Ill. After 27 years with Belden Wire and Cable Co., she retired, and in 1988, with her husband Oscar, moved to Newton Valley in Harmony Township. In her later years, Shirley was also a resident at Old Times in Westby before going to Norseland Nursing Home.
Shirley is survived by a niece, Christine (Jack) Essenburg; several great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar, in 2007 and a brother, Brenton in 1998.
A graveside committal service was held on Friday, March 9, 2012, at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park in La Crosse.
