MRS. BETTY GREEN BERMAN Prominent Atlanta attorney, died January 2nd after a brief illness. She was a member of the American Bar Association, the Georgia Bar Association, and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta. A native of Toccoa, Georgia, where as a young teenager she entertained the lauded Currahee paratroopers of WWII by playing the xylophone. A University of Georgia Honors graduate and music major, Mrs. Berman was also an accomplished pianist and piano teacher. She also established a successful three decade law practice. In addition to providing pro bono legal services to clients who could not afford to pay, she frequently served as an arbitrator for Fulton County Superior Court, and participated as a judge in annual high school moot courts. Mrs. Berman also donated her time to fundraising projects for the Center for the Visually Impaired in Atlanta and was a member of the Ahavath Achim Synagogue. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Jerome D. Berman, three daughters, Mrs. Karen Berman (husband Paul Accettura) of Falls Church, VA; Sally Berman of Glendale, CA; and Ellen Fix (husband Steve Fix) of Atlanta; sisters, Mitzi Green and Mozelle Marks of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Raphael and Shayna Fix, and in-laws, Dr. and Mrs. Herbert R. Karp of Atlanta. Also surviving are numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2004 at 12:00 noon at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt. Vernon Highway, N.W. Atlanta, 30328.
