Lyons - The funeral for R. D. Oden, 71, Lyons, will be in the Crawford and Miller chapel here at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. A. E. Janzen, Hillsboro, will officiate, and burial will be in the Lyons cemetery.
Mr. Oden was born in Cleveland, O., Sept. 1, 1878. He died in the Sterling hospital at 5 p.m. Monday after an illness of six months. Mr Oden came to Kansas as a small child, and settled on a farm southeast of here. He was a member of the Evangelical church, and the Odd Fellows and Rebekah lodges.
He is survived by his widow, Mamie, of the home; two sons, Amos, Lyons, and Roy, Hutchinson; four daughters, Mrs Mary Waggoner, Sterling, Mrs Verna Hedges, Hutchinson, Mrs Lula Porter, Topeka, and Mrs Hattie Elliott, Levelland, Tex.; three brothers, Arthur and Ralph, both of Sterling, and Guy Oden, LaFeria, Tex; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandsons.
