Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 10, 1998, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Highmore for Evelyn M. Stoley. Pastor Wendy Popp officiated and burial was at Highmore City Cemetery. Evelyn Mae Mason was born September 24, A4' 1934, at Highmore, South Dakota, to Frank and Martha (Halverson) Mason and died November 4, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, at the age of 64 years, one month and ten days.
She lived with her parents in Holabird, South Dakota, until the age of five, when they moved to Highmore. She graduated from Highmore High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Loren G. Stoley on June 7, 1953, in Highmore.
To this union five children were born. She was employed at Highmore High School until 1968, when she and her family moved to Aberdeen, where she worked for the Aberdeen American News. In 1978, they moved to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, where she worked for the Chippewa Herald Telegram and the Mason Shoe Company. For the past eight years, she had been employed at Lutheran Social Services, retiring in August, 1998. She enjoyed reading, needlework, traveling with Pat, and spending time with her family.
Survivors omitted for privacy
She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 26, 1982; one daughter, Denise M. Stoley on Jan. 31, 1990; her parents; three sisters and six brothers.
