Wenzel passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer, NE.
Wenzel Anthony Franzluebbers was born September 21, 1935 at West Point, NE to Ben and Catherine (Ortmeier) Franzluebbers. He attended St. Boniface School at Monterey. Wenzel served in the United States Army from 1956 until 1958. Upon being honorably discharged he returned to West Point. On January 31, 1959, he was united in marriage to Cecilia Wuestewald at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point. The couple lived for a short time in West Point, until their home was built in Beemer. Wenzel worked for the Alfalfa Mill in West Point, Beemer Hardware Store and Peet's Feed in Beemer prior to retiring. In his retirement he worked at the India Trails Golf Course on the grounds crew and later for the Beemer Housing Authority doing maintenance. Wenzel was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, and was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2272 of West Point. He was a lifetime, Green Bay Packers, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Dodger fan, enjoyed attending this grandkids activities and playing sheephead with them, tinkering, being outside, was an avid weather watcher, and was always there for others.
