The marker to the right of Henry's gravestone is for his wife. The small matching stones in the row behind them are footstones marked HG and WG.
According to "Six Good Families of Early Lancaster County, Pennsylvania," by Jane Evans Best (Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage, July 1989), Henry was the son of immigrant Christian Good (Lancaster County Deed Book II, page 580). However, tax records and deeds show there were two Henry Goods in Brecknock Township who were near the same age.
Documents found in the Lancaster County Archives show that this Henry is a different person and NOT the son of Christian Good as was believed.
Christian's son Henry was married first to Christina Amweg and second to Maria Weber. He died after 1786 but his death and burial place are unknown.
For more information on Henry, see "Two Henry Goods, Entangled in Brecknock Township," Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage, Vol. 37, No. 3 (Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society) July 2014.
The Henry buried here was the eighth and youngest child of Peter Good (ca. 1690-1754) who arrived in Philadelphia on September 30, 1727 on the ship Molly. Henry's mother was Peter's fourth wife, Fronica (Hiestand) Good (Will Book B1-69). She was the widow of John Taylor (Orphans Court Misc. Book 1742-1760, p. 10).
Henry was a half-brother of Christian Good and therefore an uncle of Christian's son Henry.
In his will, proved in 1816, Henry identified his wife by both her proper name of Wallindine and nickname of Walbina. He also named his five children, Peter Good, Barbara (Good) Hoffman, Elizabeth (Good) Hoffman, Joseph Good, and Henry Good (Will Book L-586).
