Catherine Skinner was born July 23, 1930 at Mitchell, SD to Frank and Mary (Hoffmann) Flamming. In 1931 she moved with her family to the Flamming homestead near Farmer, SD. She attended school at St. Peter's Grade School, attended the Farmer High School for two years and graduated from Letcher High School in 1948. On November 27, 1948 she married Duane Skinner. Catherine and Duane shared their home over the years with many of their relatives. She was employed at the Storla Sunset Home, Mount Vernon Public School, St. Joseph Hospital and Avera Queen of Peace Hospital before retiring in 1995. She was a 4-H Leader and was a member of the Blendon County Extension Club of many years.
She is survived by her five children: Connie Skinner of Mitchell, SD, Donald Skinner and wife, Colleen of Pierre, SD, Kenneth Skinner and wife, Pat of Mitchell, SD, Carol Terrill and husband, Greg of Mitchell, SD and John Skinner and wife, Sandy of Mitchell, SD; five grandchildren: Nathan Terrill, Kristin Reeder, Jeremy Skinner, Jason Skinner and Jenna Skinner and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister.
