GAINESBORO -- Funeral services for Morgan Allen, 82, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today, Friday, March 16, and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Allen died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 13, 1930, in Jackson County to the late Hickman and Alice Haney Allen.
Mr. Allen was a factory worker at Nielsen & Bainbridge. He was a member of Zion Church of Christ.
His family includes his Wife: Annie Louise Allen of Cookeville, TN; 1 Son: Donald M. Allen of Houston, TX; 1 Daughter: Wilma (Clay Allen Helm of Rocky Mount, NC; 1 Grandson: Nicholas Clay Helm of Raleigh, NC; and 1 Brother: Johnny Hugh Allen of Sparta, TN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Lee Allen, Marlin Allen and Fred Allen, and three sisters, Alice Marie Allen, Margie Hamlet and Louise Ramsey.
In lieu of flowers and food, memorial donations may be made to the children's library at Zion Church of Christ.
Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
