After a long time, the Lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents.

His Lord said unto him, well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things: I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. Matthew 25:19-21

A dedicated life came to an end on August 14, 1978, at 1:50 p.m., at the age of 54, when our dearly beloved mother was called to her heavenly home. Rosie was born December 30, 1923, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Amos in Carroll County, Black Hawk, Mississippi. She had little, but she gave much. Her life demonstrated God's never failing love for us.

Rosie attended Carroll County Public Schools. And at an early age, she confessed her hope in Christ at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend A. D. Frazier. Rosie served faithfully until her health failed as an usher, a choir member, a Sunday School teacher and as president of the YWA.

She leaves to mourn her passing: two children, John Quincy Amox of Dayton, OH, Miss Annette Amos of Black Hawk, MS; two grandchildren, Antionette Renee Amos of Dayton, OH, and Lakessha Andornetta Amos of Black Hawk, MS; three sisters, Lucy Amos, Veonia Anderson, both of Black Hawk, MS, Estella Phillips of Little Rock, AK; three brothers, Rogers Amox of Cleveland, OH, Ira Lee Amox and Tanner A. Amos, both of Black Hawk, MS; two aunts, Almeta Coleman Polk of Lexington, MS and Velma Harris of Greenwood, MS; one uncle, Reverend Ira Coleman of West Point, M and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Others said of Rosie:

"Sister Amos was a faithful member, loyal to her pastor, was not hard to get along with in business meetings, did all she could to help her church and she made me welcome in her home." Pastor C. L. Blue

"Sister Amos served as a faithful Sunday School teacher until her health failed." Sister Eula Phillips

"Sister Amos served as an usher for many years and was a faithful member." Sister Sarah Emma Jordan

"She was a Christian lady, she served as leader of Class No. 3 Assistant Sunday School teacher for a number of years. She also served as the president of the YWA. She fought a good fight. She finished her course. She kept the faith." Brother Sandy Donley

"Words could never describe the love, devotion and dedication Rosie had for her family, neighbors and friends. Obstacles were never too great to hinder her from performing her duties of service to God and her fellowman. She tried so hard to be a mother for all, both young and old. We agree with her, that this is a soldier gone home. We loved her, but God's will had to be done. We'll miss her greatly. We need your prayers to help us to accept our loss in the same spirit as we accept God's blessing." Amos Relatives

Active pallbearers were Robert L. Amos, Tommie L. Anderson, Odell Amos, Alexander Phillips, James C. Nalls, Ben Frank Amos and Louis A. McClinton.

Century Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
