In Memory of Rick Williams 5/19/1953 to 3/10/2012
Rick (Ricky) Williams died on March 10, 2012 after a long battle of multiple illnesses at the age of 58.
Born at the family home in Belleville on May 19th, 1953 to John Williams and Nina Backus Williams of Belleville.
Rick attended school at the Union Academy in Belleville, NY. He worked at many local farms in the Belleville area.
He worked for the City of Watertown as an Equipment Operator. He married Dopris Williams and lived in Watertown for many years caring for her. Doris died in 2009.
Rick lived and worked in the Holly area near Rochester as a Heavy Equipment Operator until his illness overcame him. He moved to Conisus with his sister Fay and friend Sally Wells. Rick remained there for several years and was cared for by them. He loved to do the lawn work and did whatever his health would allow.
Rick died on March 10th, peacefully in the care of the Theresa Hospice House in Geneseo, NY.
Surviving him in order of age are brother Charles (Nellie) Williams, Adams, NY, sister Carleen Williams of Lowville, Brothers, Charles Barkley of Silver Creek Mississippi, Allen (Tina) Barkley, of Adams, NY, Victor (Cissy) Barkley, North Syracuse, NY and Morgan (April) Williams Belleville, NY, sisters Rose Barkley of Bath, NY and Fay Williams Buzard of Avon, NY. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and friends. Rick is predeceased by both of his parents. Also passing before him were brothers George (Mel) Williams of Adams, and Alfred Backus. Sisters passing before Rick include Edna Williams, Ramona Hedger of Belleville, NY, Carol Foss of Danburry Connecticut.
Cremation and Spring Graveside Service are planned at the Mixer Road Cemetery in Belleville.
