Together they had six children, Mary Martha, Charles Emmery, Joseph David, Benjamin Aladan, Alice, and John Mathew.The children were born all over Texas. His death certificate says he was a retired section foreman for the railroad.In the 1930 census, he was in Galveston, Texas, working in that capacity.
