Services for Lena Donetta Carter, 88, of Natchez, who died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at Adams County Nursing Center, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Cornith Church of Christ in Wilkinson County, with Brother Bernard Waites officiating.

Burial will follow at Carter No. 1 Cemetery in Wilkinson County under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Ms. Carter was born July 7, 1919, in Wilkinson County, the daughter of Archer Ellis Carter and Mattie Annette Carter. She was a member of Corinth Church of Christ in Wilkinson County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jesse Monroe Carter and Edward Lee Carter and nephew Malcolm Lee Carter.

Survivors include brother David Ellis Carter and wife Ruth, both of Atlanta, Texas; sister-in-law Earline F. Carter of Natchez; five nieces, Jessie Carter Carlisle and husband Shelby, both of Natchez; Sandra Berry and husband Duke, both of Rocky Springs, Wyo.; Elizabeth Hogan and husband Tim, both of Atlanta, Texas; Annette O'Day and husband Maj. Rob O'Day, both of Jacksonville, N.C.; and Ruth Ellen Nugent and husband Matthew, both of Atlanta, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Corinth Church of Christ or to a charity of your choice.
