Edwin Russell Smith was the son of Guy Smith & Faye (Burgin) Smith. He was born on May 29, 1930 in Milford, Iowa. He was the second of 5 children.Three girls and two boys.
In January of 1952 he drafted in the Army for the Korean War. He was a Corporal in Korea while serving. He served until the end of the war in 1953.
On October 8, 1966 he married Shirley Joan McBride in Nevada, Iowa. They were married 43 years before her death in 2008. They had no children.
He is survived by one sister; Dorothy Ann Smith of Milford.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Guy Smith & Faye (Burgin) Smith, his wife Shirley Joan (McBride) Smith. Sisters; Eloise Smith & Marjorie (Smith) Brown and brother; Harold Smith.
