Virginia "Ginger" Kemp, 71, of rural Arlington died on Friday, February 27, 2009 at her home. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington on Monday and continue Tuesday one hour prior to the mass at church. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Arlington.

Ginger was born on March 25, 1937, to Richard and Dorothy (Steffens) Tell at Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.
She attended St. Anne's Elementary and St. Anthony of Padua High School in North Minneapolis. Ginger went to the Minnesota School of Business and worked as a Lab and X-Ray Technician for the Arlington Hospital and Winthrop Clinic.
In the spring of 1957, Ginger met Gerald Kemp at the Arlington Hospital where she was working. They married on December 28, 1957, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in North Minneapolis. In the fall of 1962, the couple moved their family to rural Arlington, MN.
One of her latest adventures included opening a reupholstering business with her best friend, Jean Campbell, in Henderson.
She was an active member at St. Mary's church, choir director for many years and was also in a quilting club. Ginger enjoyed quilting, gardening, flowers, music, reading, coffee with the girls, going to the cabin and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Tell; brothers, Mickey and Richard "Dicky' he died in 1972 on trip to Rapid City SD; sister, Curly and son, Tim.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry of rural Arlington; Children, Mike (Jo Ann) Kemp of Sauk Rapids, Cyndi Stifter of Winsted, Mark (Karen) Kemp of Minneapolis, Therese Kemp of Minneapolis, Kate (Jody) Phillips of Roseville, Margo (Bart) Kemp Johnson of St. Paul, Geri (Brian) Nipp of Seward, AK, Jeff Kemp of St. Cloud, Jason Kemp of Minneapolis, Chris (Jessi) Kemp of Minneapolis, and Nicole Kemp of Ft. Collins, CO; Grandchildren, Abby and Kenny Kemp, Eric, Mandi and Rick Stifter, Tim and Ben Kemp, and Otto Nipp; Mother, Dorothy Tell; and Sisters, Betty (Dwayne) Brant and Marge (Mike) Gleason.
