Howard Spencer Warner, age 61, of Swan Valley, passed away June 18, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Spence was born June 5, 1949, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Buell Warner and Dora Thompson Warner. He attended high school at Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls and college at Utah State University. He played football in high school and college. Spence owned South Fork Lodge in Swan Valley, Idaho. He was an outfitter and has mentored many guides over the years. He also was a real estate broker for South Fork Properties and High Desert Realtors. His most recent project was the development of Swan Springs in Swan Valley. Spence married his best friend, Linda Jean Chaffin, June 7, 1975, in Swan Valley. They have two daughters, Aliccia Brooke (Dan) Braaten and Darcy Lynn (Joe) Wilson. He has five grandchildren, Dakota, Kelby, Kegan, Shellby and Brendon. Spence was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing all of his life. He also enjoyed snow machining and four wheeling. He was very well known for his generosity. He supported Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Pheasants Forever. He was a member of the Eagles as well as other organizations. He never knew a stranger and was a friend to everyone he met. He was very active in his community and as a member of the city council in Swan Valley. He loved his family and grandchildren. They enjoyed many camping and fishing trips together. Spence loved the Swan Valley area and had recently returned from his home in Lake Havasu, Arizona, where he and his wife had spent last winter. He was a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather, friend, fisherman and hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buell and Dora Warner; and his mother-in-law, "Sweet Alice" Rolfe. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his two daughters, Aliccia and Darcy; and his five grandchildren. A memorial to celebrate his life will be held Friday, June 25, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the home of his father in-law, Don Rolfe, 144 Riverwood Road, Irwin. He will truly be missed by his family and MANY friends. We love you, Dad and Papa.
