John was the sixth of eight children born to Daniel Anderson and Louise Elvira (Fry) Finger. He married Molly Ella Cline in 1913 and they were the parents of three children: Ella Marie, Ray Lester and Frances Louise.

MOUNT HOLLY - John Lester Finger, 66, died at 5:45 a.m. today in a Charlotte hospital following a brief illness.
He was connected with Southern Bell Telephone Company here for 45 years before his retirement last year. he was a former steward and official of the church school and trustee at First Methodist Church.
He was born August 20, 1890 at Maiden. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Molly Ella Cline of Maiden; two daughters, Mrs. Harold D. Bryant of Charlotte, and Miss Francis L. Finger of Mount Holly; one son, Ray L. Finger of Gastonia; and four sisters.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at Mount Holly Funeral Home.
